Overview & Aegis
Alshifa Multispeciality Hospital is run under the aegis of Human Welfare Trust (HWT) - national level implementing organization of ‘Vision 2026’ project. The hospital, located in Jamia Nagar, New Delhi, focuses on healthcare and community development services at an affordable cost. It ensures better health care services for the welfare of around two million people mainly belonging to lower and middle-income groups of the society residing in its adjacent areas.
Established in 1994, Human Welfare Trust has evolved as one of India’s leading nongovernmental organizations dedicated in carrying out humanitarian and development programs to fight poverty and people’s sufferings by working in partnership with vulnerable communities regardless of faith, caste, gender, or political beliefs.

The hospital intends to meet the medico-social needs of various communities of different economic status, and has been obliged to adjust its various services/facilities of general nature to the present requirements of the residents of Jamia Nagar Okhla where it is located.
Key operational goals include:
- Comprehensive Healthcare: To provide comprehensive health care, promotive, curative and rehabilitative healthcare to the residents of Jamia Nagar in particular and drawn from the urban/semi-urban and rural areas of Delhi in general.
- Out-Patient & Emergency Care: To provide out-patient, in-patient and round the clock maternity and emergency care services of all basic and supportive general specialties. Subsidized rates are available for deserving clientele.
- ICU & NICU Facilities: To provide round the clock facilities of intensive care units and neonatal intensive care units.
- State-of-the-Art Diagnostics: To provide round the clock state of the art diagnostic services/facilities in clinical pathology (including blood bank, clinical biochemistry, microbiology) and radiology (including ultrasound and CT Scan).
- Specialized Clinical Services: To provide specialized services in clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic fields like cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, neonatology, etc.
- Referral & Contact Hub: To act as a medical institution for direct contact and as a secondary level referral centre for cases from nearby smaller health facilities, clinics, and dispensaries.
- National Health Programmes: To participate in various national health programmes, including the National Family Welfare programme, by linking horizontally and vertically with public and private healthcare centers.
- Research & Future Expansion: To render facilities for conducting research activities across medical specialties and continually expand services based on evolving population needs.
